Banquet produces flattened fruit measuring 6-8" long and 6-8" wide, weighing 3.5 to 6.5 pounds. It was the winner of SSE's 2015 squash taste trials, with smooth, sweet, buttery flesh.
Banquet was introduced in 1936 by the Oscar Will Seed Company. It was bred by crossing Buttercup and Gilmore squash. Our Banquet squash was donated by SSE member Robert Kennedy of Michigan. Seed Savers Exchange is pleased to reintroduce Banquet to the U.S. seed trade, where it has been absent since at least 1981.
